ADR - Automated Dialogue Replacement

ADR is the process where an actor comes into the studio and replaces some of their production audio. Usually due to technical issues while filming, such as planes, traffic, and boom microphone being too far away, although sometimes used to change a performance. They hear three beeps and then say the dialogue while also listening to the original performance.

Here we are recording ADR for The Hitchhiker.

In this scene, from The Longer Day of Happiness, the production audio was very noisy with a lot of traffic going by. It was impossible to fix with only dialogue editing so we replaced the entire scene.

Here it is with the ADR.
